Mon - 28/02/22

    Dry February is still dry. I went to bed early and slept until around 03:50 I think. That gave me 6 hour sleep! At the end of yesterday I noticed that my big toe feels a lot more comfortable. I am a bit bunged up though. Is that Pepsi Max I wonder? I did three exercise classes.. Body Conditioning (Kelly), Abs Blast (Ed) and Body Blast (Tracey) My big toe is a lot better. My left hip and glutes were very tight in the evening. I used my massage gun and TP balls. I also used my spiky massage stick on calves and quads - these seemed to be in a reasonable state.

   Dry February is still dry. I ate a whole "Besty's chocolate cake - coconut flour version" in two sittings yesterday. Shortly before I went to bed I was feeling a bit under the weather as if I had a cold coming on. In the morning I felt a bit snuffly. Can I associate these two fatcs. NB. I am also drinking Pepsi Max at the moment. I did not sleep too well. I was awake shortly after 3am. I did a six mile a a bit run from the NISV. I have taken paracetemol and ibuprofen to calm my dodgy right big toe. At the end of the day my big toe feels a lot more comfortable.

  Dry February is still dry. I had sore fingers on my right hand during the night. I went to bed early and was awake quite early too. I didn't have a nap yesterday afternoon!.  A reminder that yesterday  I did a bootcamp session. I was still fatigued from the day before. Next week I shall consider doing the young at heart session instead as it will be two days before the Newport Half Marathon.  I must consider doing less in the gym in order to step up my running training. Today I did the Newport (Tredegar House) parkrun. Started easy and picked it up gradually. Tired legs though. Note that I took paracetemol and ibuprofen to calm my dodgy right big toe.  

Fri - 25/02/22

 Dry February is still dry. I had what seemed to be a reasonable night sleep. Garmin suggested that I might have been awake in the night but I'm not so sure! A reminder that yesterday  I did two hours at Bannatyne's, a Body Cond with Kelly and a Body Blast with the tall thin new young man. I felt very tired after these workouts. I must consider doing less in the gym in order to step up my running training. Today I did a bootcamp session. I was quite tired. Next week I have the Newport Half Marathon on the Sunday. I might do the young at heart session instead. I have booked an appointment with the Beechwood surgery nurse for a repeat blood test. I will need to also book a doctor appointment to discuss the results. 

Thu - 24/02/22

  Dry February is still dry. I woke up early with a very sore right ankle. I suspect this is a reaction to the Pilates class which I found  to be quite tough I did two hours at Bannatyne's, a Body Cond with Kelly and a Body Blast with the tall thin new young man. I felt very tired after these workouts. I must consider doing less in the gym in order to step up my running training.

Wed 23/02/22

 Dry February is still dry. Overnight (last night) I sensed that I had sore fingers. Yesterday, I had drunk plenty of Pepsi Max -  I had a home made chicken curry made with Passatta. I had home made "naan breads" made with coconut flour. I had cheese and biscuits. The biscuits were made with ground almonds. Today Michelle was away so Chris took the PIlates class. I found it quite tough I was hungry today and ate a lot. Mostly good food though. (see food diary!)

Tue - 22/02/22

 I did an interval session with the SLOGs. I had to throttle back because my legs were fatigued after yesterday's exercise classes. Dry February is still dry. Bramley 10 mile race was cancelled due to the storms.  I did a 9.2 mile LSR with Kate Parry-Jones, Rachel Jayne, Ian MacCrory and Laura Rendell. It was wet, windy  and wild. Good news about my swollen right big toe though. It is much improved

Sat - 19/02/22

 Rest day. Also.. Travel to Grazeley Green to see Stu & Phil and also for tomorrow's Bramley 10 mile road race. NB.. trip cancelled due to race cancellation and stormy weather.

 I have a very sore (and swollen) big toe on my right foot. I am resting it.

 I did the Marine Parade parkrun at Weston Super Mare. It was chilly and breezy (not quite as bad as Thursday evening though). I was concerned about my sore toes and ankle, they held up reasonably well though. I was still fatigued from Thursday evening so tady's time of 25:15 was OK.

Fri - 11/02/22

 I had really sore toes and ankles. so I missed bootcamp and had a rest day

Thu - 10/02/22

 I did the Weston Prom Race Series 201 - 2022 (Race 6) I was pleased to run sub 40 minutes. My official chip time was 39:42. I wore my Blue Vaporflys (pair 1). I got a negative splits mile 1      8:02,  mile 2      8:05, Halfway 20:30 mile 3      8:01, mile 4      7:51, mile 5      7:27 It was cold and breezy. I worked very hard for this one. I woke up during the night with severe pain in my right big toe. Either the phalange or the metatarsal. I did not get much sleep. In the morning both feet hurt and my ankles did too.

I did intervals with the SLOGs. 4 * 600 + 3 * 400 My legs were very tired after yesterday's exercise classes but after the first 600 I felt very good. This weeks times my 600s (3:03,  2:56, 2:52, 2:49) my 400s (1:45, 1:42, 1:38)   Last week's times.. 4 * 600 + 2 * 400 my 600s (2:58,  2:51, 2:49, 2:44) my 400s (1:42, 1:43)  

Mon - 31/01/22

 I did three exercise classes at Bannatynes. Body Conditioning, Followed by Abs Blast, Followed by Body Blast.

Sun - 30/01/22

 I did 11 miles including the Lliswerry 8 lap. We were team Orange. Chris Davies was marking out the mile markers. I add a mile on with John Hill at the end
